Student Vision Statement
We, as students of Faith Christian School, will strive to grow in our spiritual leadership, our walk with Christ, our outreach to others, and our daily standards. Christ above all. Quality before quantity. Our goal is to advocate quality Christian education, to pursue a friendly relationship with the community, to fully accept people for what they can be, to further the Christian worldview, to spread the love of Christ, to teach young men and women to live now and to prepare for the future. Welcome to FCS
Established in 1997, Faith Christian School has a history that lives up to its name: "FAITH" -- in Jesus Christ. The school, now fully accredited by the Mississippi Private School Association, was founded on the faith of a few dedicated educators, and has grown because of the faith of a group of tremendously enthusiastic teachers and families. It is through faith it is expanding from grades 5 through 12 in the 2004-2005 school year to a K-12 institution for the Fall of 2005.

Even though Faith Christian has only been around a few years, the school and its students have accomplished many major achievements, both academically and athletically. The school's history is a testament to the faithfulness of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

History of FCS
In the summer of 1997, three Christian educators met with about 80 interested parents and students at West Jackson Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi to discuss and prayerfully consider establishment of a Christian high school. Following several days of prayer, the group committed to start Faith Christian School.

The next seven weeks was a time to experience multiple miracles. The educators only had a vision and faith to bring the school into being. Their concerns were many – no money, no place to hold classes, no desks or equipment of any kind, no textbooks, and only half the number of students necessary to start the school on solid financial ground. These obstacles were insurmountable for the three educators but not for God, who quickly set things into motion.

God's Provision
Good News Church, located just down the street from West Jackson Baptist Church, heard of the search for facilities and called to offer its facilities as the site for the school. The Tupelo Christian Prepatory School board, knowing of the plans to open a new high school, donated all of the secondary-level textbooks. Soon, word was out that the high school would become a reality; unsolicited donations began appearing, and the teaching staff was secured.

Then opening day arrived. There was great excitement, but only seventeen students were pre-registered. Eight o'clock came and a steady flow of students and parents began to arrive. At the end of the first day,
32 students had begun classes at Faith Christian High School — just enough to meet the school's financial obligation.

Growth & Blessings
God continued to grant an increasing number of students in the following years. The second year started with 42 students and the third year with 64. The 2000-2001 school year began with 90 students. God continued to bless the school through its academic and athletic programs. Lower grades were being added to accommodate the demand for junior-high students. Faith Christian was strong, the vision was expanding, and even better things were yet to come.

In the Fall of 2003, Faith Christian reached an important milestone when it received accreditation from the Mississippi Private School Association. That recognition was the culmination of more than two years of work by the staff and parents and the object of celebration among the school's families. Again, it was clear God was continuing to pour out His blessings on the school.

A New Home
Faith Christian continued to meet at Good News Church until the end of the 2003-2004 school year when it was told it would have to find a new location for the next school year because the church needed the space for its expanding ministries. So, in May 2004, students, teachers, and parents loaded the school's belongings into a truck trailer. The future of the school, which seemed so bright just the previous Fall, was now in doubt.

An area-wide search began for another church to host Faith Christian, but to no avail. In July, teachers and parents met to determine the next step. After prayerful consideration, they decided the school would continue in a rented facility. A 3,500-square-foot building was secured in late July, and renovation work began almost immediately. With the dedicated help of teachers and parents, the school opened on August 20, 2004, for the 38 students whose families had remained faithful through a challenging summer.

A Promising Future
Faith Christian School finished the 2004-2005 school year with 41 students, a graduating class of eight, a faculty of ten certified teachers ... and a promising future as it looks forward to its "covenant" relationship with LifeWay Community Church of Guntown. The school's dream of becoming a K through 12 school now appears within reach as it anticipates an expanding ministry to children and their families throughout Northeast Mississippi.

As this transition to the Guntown property is completed, we are anticipating a soft increase in enrollment for the 2005-2006 school season. However, 2006-2007 should see a reasonable jump in enrollment. Additionally, Faith Christian and LifeWay Church will work diligently together to establish a well-rounded athletic program that will encompass all major sports and minister to the total man – spirit, soul, and body.

In the summer of 2004, Faith Christian's future – in the world's eyes – was very bleak. However, apparently God still has plans for the faithful teachers, students, and families that make up Faith Christian School. There is a renewed commitment to plan forward and accomplish the goal set before us. The future is very bright! To God be the glory!
