Is FCS affiliated with a particular Christian denomination?
Faith Christian has no official affiliation with any Christian denomination.  Faculty and students come from a wide range of Christian denominations.  Thus, at FCS, we emphasize the essential teachings of Christianity that all denominations have in common, and we recognize that Christians can lovingly disagree over the non-essential issues that separate us into denominations.  A more detailed explanation this approach is available in our student handbook.

How much are the fees and tuition?
Our registration and tuition fees are based on the grade level of the student.

When does school start?
Classes for the 2008-09 school year begin on August 11.

How do I register my child at Faith Christian?
The first step is to contact the school and obtain an application form. After the school receives the completed application, the parents will be contacted for an interview with the admissions committee. After the interview, the school will contact the parents, informing them of the decision on the application.

What are the admission requirements?
In a parent interview, at least one parent will profess Christ as Lord and Savior. In the event that the parents do not believe, the student will profess Christ and present a written testimony. In a student interview, the student will express a desire to attend Faith Christian School.

In keeping with its goal of maintaining a drug-free campus, FCS will not accept any student who has been expelled from another school for drug reasons unless that student has undergone a successful drug treatment program for the duration of at least three months.

Student candidates with a history of behavioral disorders will be considered carefully, and with their parents, will be required to appear before the admissions committee.  Students admitted under these circumstances will serve a probationary period of no less than one semester, and are expected to maintain exemplary behavior.

All students and parents will be required to sign the FCS Student/Parent Honor Code.

Is there a dress code? Are students expected to wear uniforms?
Our students do not wear uniforms. But we do expect our students to exercise wisdom in their choices of attire for school days and school functions -- and we rely heavily upon the discretion and loving cooperation of parents.  Modesty, cleanliness, neatness, and school appropriateness is the spirit of the code.  Our student handbook addresses the dress code more specifically for both male and female students.

How do you handle discipline?
Students at FCS are expected to maintain exemplary behavior befitting Christian young people at all times. The "Rules of Conduct" are clearly spelled out in our student handbook, and both students and parents must read and sign a copy of those rules.

We do not seek to assume a task which God gives to parents -- but we emphasize the student's personal responsibility for his/her actions, and we use Scripture as our guide for acceptable behavior.

On a more practical level, the school has instituted a "discipline ladder" for handling disciplinary problems.  The first level of corrective action, in most cases, involves detention, during which the student is required to complete a writing assignment and/or campus clean up.  Levels further up the ladder include in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, and expulsion.
